Monday Marketing Tip_Evergreen Content

Content should feed your inbound marketing strategy and support your search engine optimization and keyword ranking goals. Ensuring that evergreen content is part of your marketing will not only increase all of those aspects, it will also ensure a great user experience and will lower content maintenance needs.

Why You Need a Content Mix

There are many reasons why you need a variety of content types: personas, buyers stage, but my favorite is SEO. Pillar pages are the new norm for website SEO and this page content needs to be evergreen. These are pivotal pages on your website that have 2,000+ words that establish you as an expert on that topic in both a prospect and search engines perspective. Pillar pages always have supporting content that creates internal links to other places on your website that support your expertise on this topic and allow visitors to read more on the topic while staying on your website. And the links also help your domain authority on that topic (as long as you are utilizing a keyword focus).

So how can your content stand the test of time?

Stay away from these aspects in order to keep your content evergreen:

  1. NO dates
  2. NO trendy topics that may lose steam quickly
  3. NO connection to current headlines

When you stick to classic strategy and how to content or guides on timeless content aspects you'll remain relevant time and time again. Read more Evergreen Content Tips in our recent blog post:
