Monday Marketing Tip_Content Placement

Content placement refers to the location where you are sharing your content, i.e. on the home page of your website, on social media, via email, etc. Content placement also refers to where on a given webpage your content is located. For example, let's say your organization has an explainer video. The video could appear above the fold, in a side bar, in the body of the page, or a number of other locations.

In either case content placement has a huge impact on conversion rates, online visibility, and overall user experience. That is why it's so important to have a great content placement strategy.

Ideally you will want to keep your most important content above the fold (or as close to the top of the page as possible). This is because not everyone will scroll down webpages to seek out additional content, so you want important conversion opportunities like forms and calls to action front and center. The higher up something is on your page, the more people will see it.

Pop-up forms and exit intent forms are also great locations to get your most important content in font of your target audience, but you'll want to monitor their performance and do some A/B testing to ensure you're not annoying your website visitors.

Growth Driven Design can help to identify areas where content placement could improve. This is done with the help of heat mapping software, and by collecting aggregate scroll data from website visitors.
